Draw & Paint & Draw & Paint

Can't sleep? Drawing & Painting is a good remedy for that...

She somehow ended up with a little octopus flair between the hair and the earring. Maybe I was channeling cephalopods?

The Fates

Inspired by an amazing artist, Leilani Joy, I started a fun painting about the Fates. It's a little dark, yet beautiful and feminine. One will be holding the spool of the mortal thread, one (who generally measures the length of each mortal's life thread) is holding the eye they use to see the past, present, future. The third will be cutting a mortal's life thread.

Update: August 20, 2013

I am still working on this piece! It will probably be done in 2015 at this rate...

Commissions...

Progress of a commissioned piece for a friend:

Tablero Boards

Earlier this year, I was introduced to a wonderful little drinking game called Tablero...
The game was conceived within the medieval recreation group, the Society for Creative Anachronism, where they modified a game called "Tablero de Jesus" by substituting beer in place of pennies.
Some dubbed it Tablero da Gucci, after the family name of the SCA household of some of the initial players, but it is commonly known as Tablero. Tablero is widely known through the western known kingdoms (as delineated by the SCA).
While at an SCA event, I saw someone had made a wooden Tablero board as the prize for a brewing contest...and was quickly inspired to create my own.
Most of these are for sale, and custom boards can be made (Tablero, checkers/chess, etc.) A few of them are themed after combating houses in George R. R. Martin's book series, "A Song of Ice & Fire" (or the HBO series, "Game of Thrones"), some are designed with a house device/banner, some are elemental themed, etc.
To learn how to play, check out This Wikipedia Link
(in simple terms, you roll the dice to determine your movements, you move the cups of beer one at a time, get 'em in a line and you drink!)
